The
Cheviot Hotel is situated in the historic town of Bellingham in
the heart of rural Northumbria. Just 25 miles north of Hexham, and
ten minutes from beautiful Keilder Water, where you can enjoy a
walk, or fish for trout, go sailing or canoeing, and enjoy a whole
range of watersports.
Bellingham is
perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland National Park, the
Pennine Way, the Scottish Borders, the Heritage Coast and Cumbria.
Only half an hour's drive to the south east is Newcastle, and only
a little further is the excellent Metro Centre.
Also nearby
is the world famous Hadrian's Wall, and numerous Roman Forts and
heritage sites are all around the area.
Cyclists and
walkers are a common sight in the village too, as Bellingham is
both on the Pennine Way, and a popular route for Coast to Coast
cyclists. Local Horse riding and hacking facilities are also available.
